The 190,000-litre per day LNG fuels production facility is due to come online next month, about five months later than its initial schedule.
Encana executive vice president for exploration and business development David Hill said that selling the 50% stake in the plant would allow it to focus on its core business while remaining an LNG customer of Ferus.
The facility is designed to produce LNG fuel for high-horsepower engines used in drilling rigs, pressure pumping services, and heavy-duty highway and off-road trucks.
