The Australian regulator for offshore oil and gas operations, the National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environmental Management Authority (NOPSEMA), reported that the fire broke out on Wednesday and was related to a circuit-breaker in the switch control room on the facility.
It stated that the fire was rapidly extinguished, causing minor damage.
Operations on the mobile offshore drilling unit remain suspended while NOPSEMA investigates an incident on Monday that resulted in two fatalities.
