At present, the Monaco-based floater giant has 600 employeesworking offshore Brazil, but this is projected to reach 1200 by 2017, accordingto Stephane Adol, general manager of SBM’s floater division in the country.

The future increase masks a period of adjustment currently takingplace for SBM in Brazil.

SBM has seven units under lease-operate agreements in Brazil atpresent, but charter terms for one, the P-57, stipulate that ownership willsoon shift to Petrobras as the first three years of operations is nearly up.
