At the opening ceremony for the new plant in Benoi, FMC chief executive John Gremp told Upstream the 11,500 square-metre facility will cater primarily for increased demand for surface wellheads in Iraq and other countries in the Middle East.
At the same time, the plant will free up space at the existing Gul Circle facility in Singapore to create more capacity for increasing subsea equipment production, according to Gremp, who also pointed to the exponential increase in contracting activity in Australia.
