Some 82% of FOGL’s shareholders backed the deal on a show ofhands in London on Friday.
The deal’s capital reduction is due to be considered forcourt sanction on 5 December with approval also needed from the Falklandsgovernment, FOGL said.
The merger would create the only explorer with acreagenorth, south and east of the Falkland Islands.
The newly-combined explorer would have a hand in five exploration probes around the islands next year.
