The Calgary-based said the failure occurred during a routine pressure test of the wellbore integrity, resulting in an uncontrolled release of gas and fluids from the 15-01 well.
“All people on site are accounted for and there are no injuries,” Questerre stated on Saturday.
“Well site staff were all safely evacuated and first responders have secured the site.”
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police was said to have temporarily closed a 70-kilometre stretch of the nearby Highway 40 between Grand Prairie and Grand Cache as a precaution at the time of the incident.
