Westpac chief economist Bill Evans said at the 2012 Good Oil Conference in Fremantle, Western Australia on Tuesday that the country was currently going through “the best days of the Australian economy”, with “very strong mining activity that has been underpinned by very strong growth”.
However, he cautioned that the current boom in the resources industry would begin to slow down quite significantly in the next few years.
