Earlier this year, Australian gas major Woodside announced it had scrapped plans to develop its Browse project with an onshore LNG plant near James Price Point, as it “did not meet the company’s commercial requirements for a positive final investment decision”.
It has been widely believed that Woodside would turn to a floating LNG concept to develop its project. At the end of April, the company announced it had entered into an agreement with Browse partner Shell to set out key principles which would apply if the project was developed using the latter’s FLNG technology.
