Gulfsands said it had engaged drilling contractor Cofor to supply the unit which will be used to drill at least nine exploration wells on the Rharb permit.
The rig is expected to mobilise to Morocco shortly to commence an initial five-well campaign in September which is expected to take roughly four months to complete.
Gulfsands expects to kick off a second drilling campaign consisting of at least four wells in the second quarter of next year.
