Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Harvey Gulf chief executive Shane Guidry said in a statement that the LNG-powered vessels have a construction cost that is about 20% higher than conventional offshore supply vessels (OSVs).
"We are the only company in America building Offshore Supply Vessels utilising liquefied natural gas as its fuel source," he said.
