The Italian energy giant said on Thursday it had completed drilling of the Evans Shoal North-1 probe in exploration permit NT/P48, located in the north Bonaparte basin of the Timor Sea.
The well, which was drilled to a target depth of 3955 metres, lies 12 kilometres from the Evans Shoal-2 probe, where Anglo-Dutch supermajor Shell hit a 216-metre gross gas column in 1998.
