The probe is located north-west of the Elevala gas and condensate discovery in PNG’s Western Province. It was drilled by the Parker Rig 226 in Block PRL 21, which Horizon operates with a 45% stake.
At the start of October,elevated gas readings were recorded in both the primary objective Elevala sandstone and the secondary target Toro formation during drilling.
Last week, after running tubing string and cementing the well at a measured depth of 3234 metres, Tingu-1 was perforated across a seven-metre interval in the Elevala sandstone.
