HRT shares had surged 32% over four days on press reports suggesting the offer for the acreage, which was once the centrepiece of the company's trumpeted programme promising light crude in the remote Amazon jungles of Brazil.
"The company denies the information that it has received an acquisition proposal of the total of participating interest in the Solimoes Basin by Rosneft," HRT said in a securities filing.
