The platform at the North Sea gas and condensate field is being decommissioned as its Huldrapipe export pipeline will be required for use by the under-construction Valemon facility that is scheduled for start-up in the fourth quarter.
Statoil stated in its decommissioning plan for Huldra that both fields were unable to use the same 150-kilometre pipeline due to a difference in their respective reservoir pressures.
