Blythe gas is set to be sold at Bacton in England on a day-ahead basis, which is standard for gas that meets normal system entry requirements.

The gas field in the southern North Sea is set to be developed early next year, with Independent set to submit a field development plan later this year. More details are set to be released shortly.

Chief executive Mark Routh said this was an important step in commercialisation of the project and said this builds on the relationship between the companies as International is already a supplier to BP Oil International from the Skipper oilfield.
