MEO perforated the seven-inch liner over the Baong sands with tubing conveyed perforating guns across a 57 metre net interval.
However, despite stimulating the well with nitrogen, no hydrocarbons flowed to the surface during the test.
“This result is clearly a significant setback in our efforts to advance the Gurame resource towards development,” MEO chief executive Jurgen Hendrich said.
“Further evaluation will be required to reconcile the gas shows observed while drilling, significant mud losses and gas influx into the wellbore with the absence of flow during production testing.”
