The PNG-focused player spun the bit on theRaptor-1 wildcat in Block PPL 237 in Gulf Province on Friday, it said.
Raptor is amulti-trillion-cubic foot gas prospect that is located 10 kilometres west of itslarge Antelope discovery.
The wellwill be drilled to a targeted total depth of 4500 metres.
In earlyMarch, InterOil began drilling on the Bobcat prospect on PPL 238. The Bobcat-1 wellis set to take approximately 90 days to drill, with a planned total verticaldepth of 3134 metres.
