National Iranian Oil Company managing director was quoted by Reuters in Tehran as saying that following repeated delays “termination of the company's Azadegan oil field development project has been issued”.
CNPC did not respond to a request for comment by the wire service.
As Upstream reported in March, CNPC was warned by Iran’s oil minister Bijan Zanganeh that the licence would be “expropriated” if the explorer did not meet its obligations by 1 April.
