The West of Shetlands block 206/8 project is set to produce at peak rates of 120,000 barrels of oil per day. with first oil expected in late 2016.

BP’s president for the North Sea Trevor Garlick said that the installation had come less than two years from the British supermajor’s final investment decision on the field.

Garlick said that the project showed BP’s commitment to the UK, with around half of the investment being made in Britain including more than 80 British engineering-related companies.

Involving
