Daewoo will build the "workhorse" GVA 4000NCS Cat-D drilling units for rigs to be operated by the Norwegian giant on the continental shelf of Norway's North Sea. Songa Offshore ordered the units for the rigs currently under construction in South Korea.
KBR said the concept for the unit is "tailor-made" for Statoil and will be used for drilling production and well completion in mature fields.
