Tullow revealed on Thursday that theEmong-1 well had reached a total depth of 1394 metres, about four kilometres south-eastof the Ngamia-1 well.

The aim of the well was to testa structure directly across the main basin bounding fault, which is juxtaposedagainst the material oil accumulation discovered in Ngamia-1, but Tullow saidEmong-1 encountered poorly developed oil bearing reservoir sands.

It added the well resultsuggested the main basin bounding fault controlled the distribution ofreservoirs in the area and had no impact on the potential of the Ngamia oilaccumulation.
