Keppel delivers Arabian Drilling newbuild

The newbuild, named ArabDrill 50 at a ceremony held over the weekend, will depart soon for a term charter with Saudi Aramco off Saudi Arabia.

Keppel was awarded a $210,000 bonus by Arabian Drilling for delivering the newbuild rig 14 days ahead of schedule.

ArabDrill 50 is built to the KFELS B Class design, which was first launched in 2000.  Including the latest newbuild, there are 45 KFELS B Class jack-ups on the global operating rig fleet, equivalent to 30% of the jack-up rigs in operation around the world, according to chief operating officer of Keppel Offshore & Marine, Chow Yew Yuen.
