The southern Africa-focused player reported that the KA-10PTR well flared gas above 308 metres before being drilled to total depth of 440 metres, with preliminary indications of gas pressures and flows exceeding expectations.
This result follows the successful gas flaring from the first Amersfoort pilot production well, KA-03PTR, located eight kilometres to the north-east.
Gas and water production from both KA-10PTR and KA-03PTR will be interpreted by independent consultants over the next few weeks, Kinetiko said.
