Bergen Group said in a statement the sale of the two newbuild contracts to the Sunnmore-based yard would release between Nkr80 million and Nkr90 million ($13.4 million and $15 million) in working capital already invested in the projects as it seeks to refocus on offshore work, while not disclosing the value of the deal.
The two offshore construction vessels, based on Skipteknisk’s ST 259 CD design, were originally ordered by Norwegian shipowner Volstad Maritime in 2012, with their hulls currently being built at an offshoot yard of South Korea’s Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering in Romania.
