Kongsberg offshore simulator ready to open

Kongsberg Maritime president Jon Holvik said the Houston simulator will likely see some 1600 students visit each year for training on DP systems.

Some 40 new ships of all types including rigs will undergo sea trials with Kongsberg DP systems in the US Gulf of Mexico alone, Holvik said.

Clayton Burry, Kongsberg Maritime Simulation vice president sales - Americas, said companies can use a simple simulator on their desktop or opt for converting an entire room into a full-scale simulator with sound effects.
