The Africa and Latin America-focused independent said its Sipo-1 wildcat was drilled to 5660 feet targeting the Miocene Isongo formation.
"Oil and gas shows evidenced during drilling indicated a working petroleum system; however, the well failed to encounter commercial reservoirs," Kosmos said of the well.
The company has a 100% interest in the Ndian River Block in the Rio del Rey Basin.
