The ice-class rig Kulluk was first reported to have disconnected from the Arctic support vessel Aiviq on Thursday night, following which 18 Kulluk personnel were safely evacuated by the US Coast Guard to Kodiak.
The rig was reconnected by Sunday morning then separated again later that day.
Shell stated on Monday morning that the rig was back under control after tow lines were reestablished with the Aiviq and the tugboat Alert.
