Operator Latin American Resources said the rig’s drilling mast is set in place and auxiliary equipment is now being connected to the rig.
The company said the rig is expected to be drilling towards the initial reservoir within the next three to four days.
It is expected to take 40 days to get to total depth.
Primary targets for the well are C17, C18 and C19 carbonate sections, the same targets as the Atzam-4 well.
