Denver-based Liberty II will pay an undisclosed seller $455 million for the proven but largely undeveloped Williston basin properties, located in Williams, Divide, Burke and McKenzie counties.
The assets also include production of over 4000 barrels of oil equivalent per day from the Bakken and Three Forks formations.
The deal is Liberty II's first since it reformed last year with $350 million in backing from oil and gas private equity player Riverstone Holdings.
