The UK company said its new offshore rules for FLNG vessels and facilities are based on "real-world projects and extensive work with key industry alliances".

Lloyd’s added that this was the first set of rules to comprehensively look at all areas of FLNG facilities.

“Natural gas is a key part of the energy mix’ and its safe and economic production is becoming increasingly more important,” said Mark Tipping, principal engineer for FLNG development at Lloyd’s Register.
