The scheme has so far resulted in so-called ripple effects for the Helgeland coastal region of around Nkr200 million ($32.7 million), out of an anticipated Nkr450 million, and the local economic benefits are set to exceed those envisaged in the field development plan, according to Statoil’s project head Torolf Christensen.

Most of the jobs have been created in Mo i Rana where  Momek is fabricating 32 suction anchors under a sub-contract with Subsea 7, while Aker Solutions plans to employ an additional 50 personnel to build subsea templates for the field at Sandnessjoen, where a supply base for the field will also be located.
