The 16/2-20A probe, drilled by semi-submersible Island Innovator in Lundin-operated production licence 501, was targeting hydrocarbon potential in a Jurassic reservoir 770 metres west of the earlier disappointing exploration wellat the North Sea prospect.
"The reservoir section has been cored with oil shows, but demonstrates poor reservoir quality," Lundin said in a statement, adding further wireline logging would be carried out to confirm initial results.
