The Toronto-listed company said the CAN-15(h) well on the Coiron Amargo block was drilled to a total measured depth of 3750 metres with a 692-metre lateral.
Madalena has a 35% share in the area, with Apco on 45%, privately held Roch on 10% and provincial oil company Gas y Petroleo de Neuquen on 10%.
The consortium saw natural production from the Sierras Blancas formation, "a conventional light oil reservoir sourced from the Vaca Muerta shale," according to Madalena.
