The Canadian oufit, focussed on Argentina and Canada, said Shaw would bring a lengthy oil and gas resume to the company with both engineering and financial experience.
Most recently Shaw he headed the energy team at Casimir Capital in charge of global energy research, where he oversaw coverage of more than 30 E&P companies.
He has also worked as a partner at Wellington Capital markets, as a consultant on projects for Colt WorleyParsons and various roles at ExxonMobil "via Imperial Oil" the company said.
