The unnamed privately-owned Canadian buyer will acquire the subsidiary’s oil and gas assets covering 52,520 acres at the Tableland field in Saskatchewan province that have 84 producing wells and output of about 630 barrels of oil equivalent per day.

The transaction, effective 1 March, is due to close next month subject to closing conditions.

Houston-based Magnum Hunter, which has previously sold all of its oil and gas properties in Alberta, said proceeds from the latest sale will be used to pay down debt.
