According to the company, tests using core samples taken from the NEB 352-1-005 well had shown that the gas present in the borehole was more than 95% composed of methane.
Magnum said on Friday it had informed the Botwana Ministry of Mines, Energy and Water Resources that a CBM discovery had been made on the company’s licences.
“This result is very important to Magnum as it is a significant step towards the company's goal of certifying gas reserves within the Karoo basin,” Magnum said in a statement.
