Electric logs indicated an oil pay over a 24-metre gross interval in the Triassic formation of the Sagiz West formation.
Max said the reservoir quality was “very good”.
The company has set production casing in the well and will start testing as soon as possible.
Max will now drill the SAGW-13 well designed to test the southern extension of the field.
After the SAGW-13, one more well is planned for the current programme at Sagiz West.
The SAGW-11 appraisal well drilled before this well failed to find a sufficient amount of hydrocarbons to be commercial.
