The award confirms earlier reports byUpstream that McDermott had emerged as the leading contender for thecontract to transport and install offshore structures at themulti-platform project.
It is understood McDermott beatSingapore's Swiber Offshore for the contract which had been seen asa strong candidate for the deal given its long track recordinstalling offshore structures at the Champion field.
The scope of the work includes thetransportation and installation of four jackets in water depthsranging from 25 to 30 metres.
