Many of those projects will be in offshore and frontier areas like the Arctic, and in areas that lack robust infrastructure like East Africa, IHS chief upstream strategist Bob Fryklund said.
The projects are not only ambitious in scale but in price, as indicated by their “mega-project” moniker.
Fryklund said a mega-project was once defined by a cost of $5 billion or more in total capital expenditures.
