The deal was awarded by UK-based Subsea 7, which is currently working on installing and tying off heavy-lift structures on the project.
Valued at more than A$100 million (US$89.7 million), the vessel contract is due to start in October and be completed in the 2014 calendar year.
Mermaid will provide a fleet of nine tug and barge sets to support the subsea installation works, in addition to an offshore positioning tug.
