The Hagana-1 well is a large gas target that spudded in the Gulf of Papua on 7 June using the semi-submersible Stena Clyde.

Oil Search said log data indicated the primary objective Pleistocene sand was 35 metres thick and of good reservoir quality, but appears to be water bearing.
