“I just think there are a lot of questions that have not been addressed in a clear way and I think that industry can do a lot more to put that whole case together for a public discussion,” Moniz said at the IHS CeraWeek conference.
“We are still importers of 5-plus million barrels of oil per day. If there were exports, what would be the balance of exports and re-imports? What is the effect of product imports versus crude exports?”
Industry should explain all the drivers and impacts of exports, he added.
