Citation Resources, which holds a 60% equity interest in operator LAR, said on Wednesday that the well had reached its second intermediate casing point at 3600 feet and had encountered “significant” oil shows to surface while drilling over the past few days.
Over the past week Atzam-5 has been drilled through the C17 and some initial C18 carbonate sections, with initial log interpretation indicating the well had intersected multiple pay zones in the primary carbonate targets.
