The first prospect in the company’s sights is Eagle, which will be targeted by the FA-1 well set to be spudded in March by semi-submersible Maersk Discoverer in the Kosmos-operated Foum Assaka block and is estimated to hold about 360 million barrels.
The second probe lined up later this year will target the Gargaa prospect located at a water depth of 2135 metres in the Kosmos-operated Cap Boujdour contract area off the North African country, with recent farminee Cairn Energy set to a pay a share of drilling costs under a deal struck last year.
