A motion has been lodged in the Senate by the Australian Greens calling for the suspension of all CBM projects and no new approvals.
Australians Greens mining spokeswoman Larissa Waters said there was an “alarming lack of research” into the industry.
“We’ve already seen Santos contaminate water in New South Wales with uranium, and Origin threaten water supplies with asbestos in Queensland,” she said.
