The US-listed explorer said the assets have an estimated 14 million barrels of oil equivalent of proved and probable reserves, and are producing 2200 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
The transaction, of which the company did not disclose financial details, will bring Murphy's total holdings in the area to over 331,000 net acres and production to over 9000 boepd.
"As operator of this area and its existing lands Murphy will be able to advance its growth plans for conventional as well as enhanced oil recovery opportunities," the company said in a statement.
