"Block H, Malaysia's floating LNG project with our partner Petronas, is now fully sanctioned by both parties and the oil-linked gas terms agree,” Murphy chief executive Roger Jenkins revealed in an earnings call with analysts last week.
He added the project would be a phased development centred around the Rotan discovery and gas resources from three satellite fields.
The project had been anticipated to start up in 2016, however Jenkins told analysts that first gas was now expected in 2018, with a 10-year peak gas rate of nearly 207 million cubic feet per day.
