Twelve passengers and two crew had to be rescued by lifeboat and helicopter after their EC225 LP Super Puma helicopter was forced into the controlled ditching 48 kilometres off the Scottish coast en route from Aberdeen Airport to the Maersk Resilient jack-up rig.
The helicopter was manufactured by France's Eurocopter and operated by Bond Offshore, which briefly grounded its Super Puma fleet in the wake of the incident.
