Shell confirmed that it moved the drillship Noble Globetrotter I about 500 feet to the new drilling location to spud a second well in Mississippi Canyon Block 525.
"The first Rydberg Deep well encountered a shallow water flow," a spokeswoman said. "We moved less than 500 feet and have successfully drilled through that section and are continuing drilling ahead."
Shell spud the first Rydberg Deep well on 1 February this year, targeting the Jurassic-Norphlet trend.
