The Tamar SW well near to the giant 2009 Tamar gas discovery has not yet reached final depth, however, Israeli partner Delek Drilling said on Tuesday.
Noble has reported the gas shows based on its initial evaluation of wireline logs, Delek said in a statement to the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
The latter stressed, however, that there is no confirmation as yet of a discovery as defined by Israeli authorities.
